busy week

Its been a while. I am currently busy reviewing docs/drawings. Maybe later tonight I'll blog.

And I need to prepare report as well for last week event. Hehe.

MTU oil and gas seminar

I wake up this morning and remember something. I am supposed to attend this seminar today. I had already confirmed with MTU last 2 weeks.

Honestly, i do think MTU should send a reminder to the participants yesterday. After all, most people is having holiday. Its school break.

And of course, i was supposed to put a reminder for myself. Hehe. Thats where a good and effective reminder device pretty much needed.

PDA? Hehe.

Government Officer

I've just called Sabah Immigration this morning. This is the excerpt of our conversation.

Me : Hello, nama saya ..... Saya ada apply passport d KL baru2 nie. Tapi
saya sabahan.
Officer : Kami suda terima tu fax, tapi kena tunggu la. Tunggu pengesahan.
Mau d proses dulu.
Me : Kenapa mau tunggu? Ni mau cepat nie.
Officer : Sebab bukan kamu satu orang jak apply nie. Kena ikut turn. Try
call ari isnin ni la.
Me : Nda boleh cepat lagi ka?
Officer : Suda beli tiket ka? Ni mo p mana nie?
Me : Belum. Mo apply visa dulu baru beli tiket. Ni mo p Pakistan nie. Kan
ada suda tu surat sokongan?
Officer : Kena proses dulu. Call la isnin.
Me : Emm..
Officer : Kamu try call esok petang la.
Me : Ok

She hang up soon after that. I didn't manage to thank her. Why is she not so friendly? I personally think their PR skill is need some enhancement.

I still dont get it. How MALAYSIAN in semenanjung can get their passport in just couple of hours. But in Sabah? They keep on delaying it. Now I know who is the real problem. Pity you (me..) SABAHAN..

Wednesday

It was supposed to be a Movie day today. Sob..Sob.. Ya lor, the ticked sold cheaper mah~!

But, I was informed by my Partner-in-movie-crime, she will be having supervisor's review in wednesdays starting today. The session supposed to finished in 6.30 PM. Well, lesson learnt from previous experiences, she will have to stay at the office later than that. Sometimes 8 PM or even 9 PM!

Midnite movie? nope. Tomorrow still kerja mah.. Hehe. I supposed movie entertainment will be on weekend only la ek?

Malaysia Pasport for Sabahan : The process and the hassle

I decided to settle my Passport today. Prior to that, I went asking around on how and what's the best and most effective way to do it.

To cut story short, I went to Pusat Bandar Damansara Immigration office. Arrived around 8.30, and surprisingly I didn't have to queue up too long. I was informed that the queue would be long if I arrived after 7.30 AM. Well, as long as I didn't have to wait too long, I dont care. Hehe.

I went to get the 'Nombor Giliran'. The officer in-charge informed me that it will take 10 days (at least) to process a sabahan passport. The reason why is that they need Sabah office to gave some docs before proceed with the process. 10 days just for a work that I should say require only email+phone calls only? Damn! We are in 2008 already. There should be a good integration between Sabah and Semanjung Immigration after 50 years Merdeka. (51 in couple of days).

Its like being alienated in your own country. Sabah is Malaysia. Sabahan is malaysian. If a semenanjung person managed to get his/her passport in 1 day why shouldn't I? I am a Malaysian.

Enough said. I didn't argue with the officer though because I already expected it. After the process, the Immigration Officer gave me a letter. A notify letter with includes statement like 'permohonan Tuan/Puan akan dirujuk ke Sabah'. Why, why and why..

As a result, I need my boss' some sort ultimatum letter (surat sokongan) to expedite the process. Hell yeah!. Like they even care!?

At least, I have something good to share today. Just received this MMS from my sis. My newly born niece. Alhamdulillah.

Congratulation to my Sister, Hirdawati Abdul Hamid and her husband, Feby Arman Syarief.

My sis did mentioned this baby's name on the phone. I just couldn't recall it. Why? Well, y'know how parents named their babies these days. The longer the better~! Hehe.

DFE : bad mood

My supervisor reluctant to relased me from present project. Damn!

The issue is that my current projects need engineer. Thats what my Project's boss concerned. THE PROJECT! But me? I also needs exposure and personal development space. We are talking a once in a lifetime opportunity. I mean, hypothetically speaking.

I do hope Electrical Department boss can help me to get rid of this uncertainties.

And I was preparing for Passport already! Damn.. Still not confirm yet..

I hate being optimist about this. Rather, I'll say that NO PAKISTAN for me. damn..

DFE : An offer that I couldn't refuse

I have 15 minutes to write this entry. Hehe. Its Friday prayer. And today's 080808. I didn't expect any great things happened though. It turned out to be a very insteresting day indeed.

My boss offered me something I cant refuse. Actually I can.. Hehe. I just want to emphasize how important this thing is.

An offer to work on Oversea project is a dream for each of young engineers in my department. 'Oversea' that we are talking is Pakistan. Although 3 months period is considered to be too short, but hey..Oversea is Oversea ok! Kidding though. Hehe.

Its important for me because I do like challenges. And actually I'll stationed in Dubai and not in Pakistan. The engineering will be done in Dubai. But first, I need to reply back to my boss by Monday. I mean in 3 days time.

My only concerned will be my family and L. Wonder what will they say.. Please say yes. Hehe.

Movie Review : Shaolin Girl

Honestly, I had a pretty much high expectation for this movie. Yup, Stephen Chow is involved. Eventhough he is not the director or actor. At least 1 thing for sure it supposed to be hillarious. Hehe. It turned out to be a lame movie after all. No wonder Stephen Chow didn't act in this movie. Hehe.

A japanese girl, Rin sent to China by his grandfather to learn Shaolin Kung Fu for a period of 3000 days. Upon completing, she went back to Japan with hope that the Dojo (where she started her Kung Fu lesson with her sensei) is still there. Unfortunately, the Dojo already closed.

Frustrated with it, she didn't gave up on her mission to spread Kung Fu in Japan. Minmin a college student agreed to became her first student. On the other hand, Rin agreed to play Lacrosse and represent the college together with Minmin and her team.

You alredy see where this story heading huh? Yup, Lacrosse + Shaolin that is! Lacrosse is a hockey+football kind of game. You need a stick with a basket on the tip end of the stick to keep the ball. The objective is like football. Score to your opponent's goal.

The rest of the story totally ridiculous. Way too far compared to Shaolin Soccer or Kung Fu Hustle. No more sports+kung fu theme movie ok! huh!

Moan of the movie

Ridiculous scenes. At least in Shaolin Soccer it was a 'Wow' scene eventhough it was unrealistic. But in this movie? Too exaggerated special effect and CGI.

Moment of the movie

Lacrosse matches of course. I havent seen any match in full though in real world. But after watching this movie, I think its worthed. But where to watch huh?

Movie Review : Mummy Returns - Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

I've read some reviews that comparing this movie with previous 2 Mummy movies. Well, most of them said that the Mummy this time not that brutal enough! True. Its true.

Other than that, I should say that this movie worth your money. The storyline pretty much simple and straight forward. Also, we have Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh in this movie. Yeah, another good reason why you should watch this movie.

Brendan Fraser this time together with his wife, son and assistant venture to China. It appeared that his son had awaken a Wicked chinese emperor.

Earlier in the movie, it showed the history of who is this Dragon Emperor. Jet Li played as a Emperor who wants to be immortal with the help of a Witch, played by Michelle Yeoh. But, the Witch in returns cast a spell for the Emperor and his army which sealed them underground. I think so. Hehe.

Decades later, Brendan Fraser's son excavated and awaken this emperor. The Witch and his daughter is the one who is immortal. Their job was to guard the tomb. Unfortunately they failed. In returns, they need to cooperate with Brendan's group to defeat the Emperor. The rest is history. Better watch it yourself.

Jet Li. IMO, I think that Jet Li specialties in Kung Fu pretty much under-use in this movie.
Moment of the movie
The Witch resurrect another army to go against the Emperor's army. She had to sacrifice her immortality though.

DFE: PMS training

Its been a while since I last blog. Actually, I currently undergoing a training on Performance Management.

The instructor introduced to me this book. 5 SECRETS YOU MUST KNOW BEFORE YOU DIE. Hehe its a motivational book actually.

One of the secret is BE LOVE. Not sure whats the meaning though..
